Wolf Preservation Organizations

Howling Woods Farm- Jackson, NJ

MAIN SITE: https://howlingwoods.org/

Howling Woods provided my pack with a unique experience; the ability to connect with dogs who were mostly wolf in lineage.  Their behavior, quirks, and physical attributes were all wolf and it was a great opportunity to be able to study them so intimately.  By far, the best part was seeing some of them bond with us and having a collective howl at the end of the tour which literally sent a tingle through my entire body.  It was magical!  They accept guests who are ages 10+, and prior reservations are preferred.  They educate their guests on wolves and wolfdogs alike, explaining why it is important to be a responsible owner if you choose to adopt one, and how wolfdogs came to be popular despite their unsuitability for domestic life.  Whatever your position on wolfdogs, it is a great experience and the proceeds go to the forever care of these amazing animals in a responsible and spacious environment, where they deserve to live out the remainder of their lives.

Wolf Sanctuary of PA- Lititz, PA

Upon our travels to the Lancaster area of Pennsylvania in the Summer of 2020, not far from the PA Renaissance Faire actually, there is a wolf sanctuary that is by far one of the best I’ve ever visited.  Their animals are well-kept by professionally-trained staff and the overall environment of the sanctuary is one of great peace and care.  The tour was informative and educational in many ways, which even taught me a few things!

Lakota Wolf Preserve- Columbia, NJ

MAIN SITE: https://lakotawolf.com/

In 2016 our pack took a trip to Lakota Wolf Preserve.  We stopped at Brook Hollow Winery to enjoy a tasting of the local wines that sponsored and were inspired by some of the wolves in Lakota Wolf Preserve.  The photography on the labels was outstanding!  We saved some of the wine for our wolf rituals later that year.  Then we ventured over to the preserve itself and spent the day getting to know the wolves there.  We even took one of our pups, who enjoyed howling with the wolves from his stroller!  It was a fantastic tour and experience with our pack as a whole.
